How To Use Gtunnel

GTunnel is a  Windows-based  application to bypass internet filters and hide IP address and protect  internet privacy. Initially it served individuals who wished to protect their online privacy and bypass internet censorship in all countries yet  for some reasons their free service is currently only intended to China’s users. Others can  however use Gtunnel by subscribing to the paid service.  This application acts as a local HTTP or SOCKS proxy server. And after configuring internet browsers and application to use GTunnel local HTTP or  SOCKS servers , the traffic will be directed to  Gtunnel  server farm before it arrives at its initial  destination.

User’s IP address is hidden and the destination servers will only  see GTunnel server addresses instead. Internet Traffic is encrypted with industry-strength algorithms so the local filtering/censorship systems will not see the content in clear-text format.

GTunnel Major Features include:

  • Automatic configuration of both global and  proxy setting in Internet Explorer
  • Support multiple transport modes to provide high service availability and flexibility in different network environment. It currently support three different modes of anonymity, namely, Standard, Skype Mode and Tor Mode. In the normal mode, GTunnel will connect to servers of Gtunnel server farm directly. In Skype Mode, GTunnel will try to connect via the P2P (Peer To Peer) network of Skype. In Tor mode, GTunnel connects through Tor nodes and adds security to Tor users. In GTunnel Tor mode, even the Tor exit node owners do not see the original traffic. See Figure 1 bellow (Image source: http://gardennetworks.org/products)
  • 128 bit industry strength data encryption with highly randomized traffic pattern

  1. Good info. Many people don’t realize the safety they can achieve from this. I don’t think they realize the dangers hiding in many websites out there and how simple innocent surfing can make them a victim.
